Champai (Mizoram) [India], October 21 (ANI): Assam Rifles on Monday organised a motivational lecture on joining the Indian armed forces at Zokhawthar town in the Champhai district of Mizoram.
The event was attended by more than 300 students from classes 1st to 8th, according to a statement by the Inspectorate General Assam Rifles, East (IGAR).
“The lecture covered essential topics such as the various entry points to the Armed Forces, opportunities to join prestigious institutions like Military Schools and Sainik Schools, and the diverse and rewarding career paths offered by the Indian Armed Forces. Students were encouraged to explore these options and were provided insights on how a career in the military can offer unique opportunities, discipline, and a sense of purpose in serving the nation,” read the statement.
According to Assam Rifles, the session aimed to instill a sense of duty, honour and patriotism among the students.
“Students actively participated in the discussion, showing keen interest in understanding how they could shape their future by joining the defense services,” the statement added.
This initiative by Assam Rifles is part of their ongoing effort to engage the community and foster future leaders through education and motivation.
Assam Rifles provided information regarding the entry, eligibility and recruitment processes for various armed forces in the country. A question and answer session was also conducted to clear any doubts by the students about pursuing a career in the forces.
“Both students and teachers expressed their gratitude, remarking how the session opened their eyes to the noble prospects of serving the nation,” Assam Rifles added.
Earlier on October 18 in Manipur, Assam rifles also facilitated six young men who were selected as Agneeveer candidates in the Indian Army. The men had been trained by Assam Rifles, according to an official release.
“A rigorous pre-recruitment training conducted by Assam Rifles was attended by 31 young men. 16 of these passed the written tests, out of which, six candidates have finally been selected for Agniveer training in the Indian Army,” the release added. (ANI)
