Agartala (Tripura) [India], October 8 (ANI): Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha participated in the Bhumi Pujan ceremony and laid the foundation stone for a new Shiva Temple at the sacred Mata Kasbeswari temple, the second most revered Shakti Peeth dedicated to Goddess Kali, on Tuesday.
The event highlighted the government’s commitment towards preserving and enhancing religious and cultural heritage in the state. In the spirit of Durga puja festivities, Saha has been actively visiting various Durga puja pandals across the region, inaugurating them and engaging with the local community, according to an official press release.
On this auspicious occasion, Saha, along with Antara Sarkar Deb, MLA of Kamalasagar and Rajib Bhattacharjee, MP of Rajya Sabha, distributed clothes to the underprivileged as a gesture of goodwill and support at the Mata Kasbeswari temple. Hundreds of people gathered at the shrine to receive these gifts as symbols of love, affection, and respect during the festive season.

The Chief Minister emphasised the importance of sharing and supporting the less fortunate, especially during festivals like Durga puja, which is a time for unity and celebration. The event drew a large crowd, demonstrating the community’s enthusiasm and support for these initiatives.
Antara Sarkar Deb, MLA from Kamalasgar Constituency, Sepahijala, while speaking with the media said, “On the occasion of the fifth day of the Shardiya festival at the Kamalasagar Kasabeshwari Temple, we distributed clothes to the poor and needy in the presence of Chief Minister of the state, Manik Saha. He also inaugurated the new Shiva temple in front of the Kasabeshwari Temple”.
She added, “I am very happy that he came to my constituency to distribute clothes and I extend my heartfelt thanks to him”.
“I wish everyone in my constituency and the state a happy Durga Puja and offer early wishes for the upcoming Lakshmi Puja and Kali Puja. I will pray to Mother Kasabeshwari that every household is filled with happiness and peace”, Sarkar greeted. (ANI)
